Wood for Recycling We can recycle several different grades of wood waste: A grade: Pallets, Packing cases, Joinery/Un-painted off cuts only. Clean grade: General wood waste, excluding MDF and Chipboard. MDF/Chipboard Unmixed with any other grade. Mixed: All types of wood waste mixed together. We can provide a collection service using Rollon-Rolloff bins, or make bulk collections direct from your sites using bins or walking-floor articulated vehicles.  Wood waste must not contain other waste of any type, and will be subject to a surcharge if it does.  We will not accept any ‘Hazardous Wood’*, including Telegraph poles, Sleepers, or any other wood contaminated with creosote. Please call or email for our current prices *Hazardous Wood The Environment Agency in conjunction with the Wood Recycling Association (WRA) have recently issued new guidelines (RPS 250) on what constitutes ‘Hazardous Wood’. The term now includes all wood subjected to any wood ‘treatment’ pre 1992, and some wood treated between 1992 and 2007. The risk arises from demolition work on sites clearing buildings and constructions from those periods. Grade D wood will remain as before (railway sleepers and telegraph poles), along with other items such as "Marine Wood" (used in docks) and other items which will have treatments to prevent water damage and rotting. To confirm, Tawmix Recycling Ltd does not accept these types of wood waste. All potentially hazardous waste wood will be rejected at the customer's expense.
